Advanced Networking

This class aims to introduce networking concepts for the novice, and work towards some advanced concepts based on the comfort level of the audience. We’ll cover the difference between switches, routers, access points and explore the concept of different types of show networks and if you need one. We’ll talk about the pro’s and con’s of wired, wireless and hybrid networks with shows. If you have specific questions about your show networking email them to me ahead of the mini (jeff@cia.net) and I may make one or more use case examples. I’ll be available at the social dinner to answer any complicated show specific questions due to limited session time.

Learn about basic and advanced topics everyone attending can help decide on. The topics include requirements, burning an SD card, initial setup, xLights FPP Connect, playlists, scheduling, backup/recovery, file manager, system health check, troubleshooting commands, scripts, plugins, SSH Shell and the REST API. A live demonstration of only some of the capablities in FPP will be given on virtual matrix and the pixel overlay feature using file manager, multisync, playlists, scripts and the REST API.

The Magic of Music: Sequencing to the Beat

The burning question when you first begin your light show is: ‘how do I make a sequence?’ The answer is simple: let music be your guide! Join this software agnostic class and partake in multiple at-your-seat-interactive games to help you learn the rules of musical beats (and color theory) so that sitting down to sequence becomes an exciting instead of daunting task.
